My Chosen Color, “Lovie Dovie”

For as long as I can remember I have looked to Revlon to color my nails in the best polish out there.  I have tried other brands over the years, but none could hold a candle to Revlon.  Today, though, my opinion was forever changed.  I was on a mission to find a specific color of polish, and the color I wanted was not found to be made by Revlon!  I could not even find a color close to what I was wanting!  At first I was devastated, but I pulled myself up by my bootstraps and began to scour the cosmetics aisle of the local Walgreens for the chosen color. 

All of a sudden, three-quarters of the way down the aisle, I found myself in nail polish heaven:  the Essie section!  Unlike Revlon, Essie has an ENTIRE color spectrum from which to choose.  They have every color you ever needed and desired!  As soon as I picked my jaw up off of the floor, I selected my chosen color, Lovie Dovie, from the shelf.  Fraught with excitement, I took the color home to paint my nails and make sure I was not dreaming.

Well folks, I was not.  Not only does Essie have every color, it is THE BEST nail polish ever!  It goes on smooth, looks flawless, and gets the Sydney Stamp of Approval!  The website even has a store locator so you can find the polish nearest to you!

Syd’s Picks: Perfect Nap Soundtrack

So today I was introduced to this website, and I just fell in LOVE!  It is wonderful because you can create any compilation you like and save it to play as a WAV file or an mp3 file!

I created this sound composition and titled it “Rainy Days and Mondays”.  I think it is the perfect soundtrack for napping, and it’s great for soothing background noise!

At any rate, I hope you enjoy my compilation, and have a great time creating your own!

Syd’s Picks: Fun for the Whole Family

Now when I say “Fun for the Whole Family”, I mean “A Place Where Everyone Can Find Something They Like to Do”.  This is a place where there are games, rides, funnel cakes, livestock shows, and the draft horse pulling competition!

Where is that you ask?  The fair, of course!  Yes, it’s that time again!  The Payne County Fair will be here from August 23rd to August 28th!  For those of you in the Stillwater area, here is the Payne County Fair Guide for 2010!  I absolutely love the fair, and I hope you can enjoy it, too!

Syd’s Picks: Method for Getting Deodorant Off of Your Shirt

If you’re like me, and unlike this woman in the picture, you occasionally get the dreaded white streak of deodorant on your shirt during applicaiton or when dressing.  Darn!  Now a streak is on the shirt that you’ve been planning to wear for a week (or for at least the past couple of minutes)!

Well have no fear, because I’ve got the ultimate fix!  All you have to do is take a section of the shirt that is unstreaked and rub it against the streaked part of the shirt and BOOM!  No more stain.  That’s right, you read correctly.  Simply rub the streaked part of the shirt on an unstreaked part, and it disappears!

I have had a 100% success rate with this method, and I know it will work for you!

Syd’s Picks: T-Shirt Folding Method

We’ve all been there… stuck with a big pile of laundry that needs to magically fold itself.  Well, I can solve your woes (at least for T-shirts)!  I’ve actually known about this video for a few years, but it just now dawned on me that I should share it!  Anyways… here you go!

Okay, so it’s not in English, and I have absolutely no idea what they’re saying, but it works!  If you haven’t already done so, get a T-shirt and try it!  It’s so amazing, and you’ll never have to worry about a poorly folded shirt again!
